Badger Run

Badger Run Wildlife Rehab maintains several licenses from both the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, as well as, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. These licenses are to ensure that we comply with a myriad of rules and regulations, designed to keep the animals in our care safe, healthy, and happy. Recently, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has enacted the Avian portion of the Animal Welfare Act, which requires that we meet additional requirements for the welfare of our Animal Ambassadors. As our animals are of the utmost importance to us, we are more than happy to conform to these additional requirements. Unfortunately, USDA has asked us to suspend all tours and presentations, until they can perform our final inspection and issue our USDA Exhibitor Permit. Because there are a few enclosure updates which cannot be addressed until we have warm, dry weather, and because USDA has a number of facilities to inspect and a limited number of inspectors, we do not know exactly when we will be able to again be open for tours or offer off-site presentations. Please be patient with us and follow our Facebook page for updates! IMPORTANT NOTE: WE ARE STILL OPEN TO ADMIT PATIENTS FOR WILDLIFE REHABILITATION. THE TEMPORARY SUSPENSION ONLY APPLIES TO TOURS AND PRESENTATIONS.

GREAT NEWS! We will again be open for tours on a LIMITED BASIS. HPAI (Bird Flu) is still prevalent in the area so we will be keeping our Ambassadors safe and not having as much “one-on-one” with them, but still lots of fun and great information. We will be open to the public the last Saturday of each month, starting on January 28th, noon-4 pm (no appointment needed). We will have limited private tours (call for an appointment) as we can accomodate them. We ask that all tour guests wear clean and/or sanitized clothing, jackets and shoes for their tour. HPAI is so contagious, you could accidentally track it in from your backyard to our facility and put all our Ambassadors at risk! (It is virtually 100% fatal in birds of prey such as our hawks, owls, eagles and vultures!) We will have a foot bath of disinfectant at the gate, and will ask everyone to dip the soles of their shoes in it, so please wear waterproof footwear.
